Nizami calls for making youth well aware of Pakistan Movement

LAHORE - Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT) Chairman and TheNation Editor-in-Chief Majid Nizami has laid stress on making the youth well aware of the Pakistan Movement.“Making the youth aware of the reasons behind the Pakistan Movement and its objectives as well as the sacrifices made by thousands of Muslims during the partition was the need of the hour,” the NPT chairman said while addressing an exhibition on rare pictures of the Pakistan Movement at Alhamra Art Gallery on Wednesday.He praised the trust and the gallery for organising such an exhibition ahead of the Independence Day. “Pakistan was not created overnight. The new generation should know that countless sacrifices were made by the proponents of the Pakistan Movement,” he added.“The leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a great blessing of Allah Almighty and the verve of the nation lies in sticking to the Two-Nation Theory,” Nizami said. He added that the same was imperative to make the country an Islamic welfare state as per the aspirations of Quaid-i-Azam.Speaking on the occasion, NPT Vice Chairman Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad said such exhibitions should be held in all the major cities and educational institutions of the country so that the new generation could know about the Pakistan Movement.Pro Dr MA Sufi, Col (r) Ikramullah Khan, Prof Muzafar Mirza, Rafique Ghouri, Alhamra Art Council Deputy Director Zulfiqar Zulfi, Shahid Rashid and Rifaqat Riaz and a large number of people from different walks of life attended the exhibition.NPT eight special lecture today: The eighth lecture of Pakistan Day special lecture series on ‘I Saw Pakistan in the Making’ will be delivered today (Thursday) at Aiwan-e-Karkunan-e-Tehreek-e-Pakistan.The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT) has organised the lecture series in collaboration with the Pakistan Movement Workers Trust.Pakistan Movement Worker Brig (r) Zafar Iqbal Ch will deliver the lecture to create awareness among the new generation about events that took place during the creation of Pakistan.Meanwhile, MA Shaida Advocate and Abdul Aziz Quraishi in their lectures said that under the leadership of the Quaid-i-Azam, who struggled hard to face the conspiracies hatched by the Hindus and the British jointly against the new born ideological state, they worked for the creation of a separate homeland for Muslims. They said that the founding father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam, was a real hero whose struggle for independence was unmatched in history. They said that a heavy responsibility of protecting the ideological state rests with the new generation. They also told many Pakistan Movement events including the miseries of immigrants during partition. The students of The Resident School Abid Market visited Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan to attend NPT’s aghi program. They also saw Pakistan Movement Gallery.   Also, mobile ideological units led by their coordinators visited The House of Accounting Shahidara, Iqra Darul Ittefal High School Baghbanpura, Baitul Ilm School System, Pak Education High School Nanak, Public High School and Madrassa Faiz-e-Madina Boota Park respectively.
