LAHORE - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has strongly condemned federal minister of petroleum Naveed Qamar for announcing to double the petrol prices next month and termed it an evidence of PPP-led governments hypocrisy and IMF slavery. In a press statement issued on Saturday, JI secretary general Liaquat Balcoh said Pakistan has abundance of natural resources and mineral wealth but only because of rulers policies the people were unable to have basic necessities and power, gas petrol etc. The load shedding of power and gas has killed the hearths in the homes and shut down the industry to spread unemployment across the country. He said that government has recently reversed the increase in petrol prices but on the other hand increased LPG prices which caused billons of rupees burden on household and commercial subscribers to balance the act. The JI leader also criticized the privatization of Postage department, terming it unwise and anti people step of the government which was bound to snatch the livelihood from the mouths of thousands of families. He assured the Postal department employees that JI would stand by them against the cruel government policy of privatization.
