LAHORE - The Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) Employees Union Punjab has hailed the appointment of Senator Pervaiz Rashid as Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting.
In a statement here on Saturday, union president Muhammad Naeem Khan Niazi and general secretary Bashir Ahmad Lashari greeted the minister, expressing the hope that Pervaiz Rashid would continue to patronise the journalist community as he did in the past.
The union expressed the hope that the minister would be able to present the true image of Pakistan to the international community as well as work for the cause of the country in a befitting manner.
It also expressed the hope that Pervaiz Rashid as information minister would promote free and fair media culture in the country and ensure and protect the cherished goals of freedom of media.
The union also appreciated the wise decision of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif for appointing a seasoned politician as information minister.
