LAHORE Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif will preside over a special ceremony being organised to mark 133rd birth anniversary of poet-philosopher Allama Iqbal at Alhamra hall 1 here on Tuesday (today) Former ameer Jamat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan will be the chief guests, while former finance minister Sartaj Aziz, Senator Raza Rabbani, MNA Begum Bushara Rehman, Dr Parveen Shaukat Ali, Waleed Iqbal advocate, Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali will be among the speakers. Nazaria Pakistan Trust and Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust are jointly organising the ceremony. Students visit Aiwan The students of the Government Cheragh Girls High School Begumpura visited Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan on a study tour on Monday. The students were informed about 550 unique pictures and scenes of Pakistan Movement at Aiwan Gallery while an organised ceremony was addressed by the Schoolteacher Kaneez Fatima. Meanwhile, Mobile Ideological Units 1,2 and 3 of Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust led by their coordinators Prof Saeed Shaikh, Abdus Salam and Nadeem Raza respectively visited the Government College for Women Gulshen Ravi, Lahore Public School Shalimar Link Road, Al-hilal Education System Johar Town. The ceremonies in said institutions were addressed by Prof Miss Kokab Tasneem, Muhammad Zameer and Muhammad Akram. The students were awarded prizes in quiz competitions and over correct recitations of Allama Iqbals verses. Sets of books were given to institutions libraries. Debate competition The students from various schools participated in a debate competition held at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan here on Monday. Chairman Punjab Quran Board Allama Ahamd Ali Kasuri while presiding over the competition said that Allama Iqbal has advised the Muslim to follow the teaching of Islam and love those people who has knowledge of the Holly Quran. He said that Allama Muhammad Iqbal was the spiritual leader of whole Ummah. He advised the students to follow the footsteps of great philosopher to get success in life. Prof Zaib-u-Nesa, Prof Rafique Alam and Prof Farkhanda were the judges on the occasion while the winner students were awarded with prizes.
