Ist phase of Raiwind Ijtima concludes today

LAHORE - The first phase of the annual congregation at Raiwind will be concluded today.
Around one million Muslims are likely to attend the final prayer held between 11am to 1pm. Though unconfirmed, Maulana Ahmad Laat Sahib of India will likely be concluding the congregation with prayer. Haji Abdul Wahab is likely to address the participants before the end prayer.
Tablighi teams will leave for different parts of country and abroad for preaching and spread the message of Islam after the end of first phase. The second phase of the congregation will start on November 13. Hundreds of thousands of people within the country and abroad attended the three-day ijtima at Raiwind. Though a huge number of faithful are present there, a fine discipline has been presented by the attendants during the three-day gathering.
Religious scholars on Saturday delivered several speeches on teachings of Islam regarding peace, love, harmony and brotherhood among Muslims.
Thousands of Muslims from Lahore, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Narowal, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Mandi Bahauddin,  Okara, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Sargodha, Khushab, Bhakkar and Mianwali from Punjab; Peshawar, Swat, Nowshera, Charsadda, Khyber Agency, Mohmand Agency, Landi Kotal, Malakand (North), Bunair, Batkhela, Martung, Bajour, Dir, Chitral, Utmankhel, Gilgit, Bisham, Chilas, Mansehra, Abbotabad, Haripur from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; and Hyderabad, Shikarpur, Dadu, Ghotki, Larkana, Nawabshah, Tharparkar, Mitthi, Sangar, Sukkur and Thatta from Sindh participated in first phase, while the people from the rest of cities will attend the congregation in second phase.
Pakistan Railways has also operated four special trains to facilitate the participants of the annual congregation. Railways Police made special security arrangement at Raiwind Railways Station. Lahore Transport Company (LTC) took over the responsibility to providing transportation and plied exclusive operation of shuttle service of around 100 buses/mini buses.
Traffic wardens, Rescue 1122, Edhi Service and heavy contingent of police have managed traffic, security and other arrangements.
