LAHORE - Rasm-e-Qul of renowned literary figure, poet and intellectual Anis Nagi held at his residence at 340 Raza Block, Allama Iqbal Town, here Friday was attended by a large number of poets, writers, intellectuals and journalists. Anis Nagi, 71, died after he suffered cardiac arrest on Thursday. He produced more than 50 books including Aik Lamha Soch Ka, Deewar Kay Pichey, Qila, Aik Garam Mausam Ki Jhani, Naraz Aurtain, Tasawarat Aur Maqalat, Janam Aik Mausum and others. Nagi always expressed his inner feelings in his writings. This very quality of his differentiated him from other writers, said renowned poet Shahzad Ahmed. He did render great services to Urdu Language, said Director Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture (PILAC) Dr. Sughra Sadaf. She further said that Nagi was a man of principles who never compromised on his ideology, adding that he had done a lot for Urdu language. She further said that the PILAC was organising a reference to commemorate his personality on October 12 (Tuesday) at the Punjabi Complex.
