Model province not far: Shahbaz

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan Muslim League-N, in the light of its manifesto, is spending billions of rupees on the development of the country and projects of provision of basic amenities to the masses.
While talking to Assembly Members of various districts he said that standard, transparency, and rapid completion of development schemes is the policy of the government. He said that every penny of public money is being spent on the welfare of people. He said that lakhs of poor families are benefiting from welfare projects of the government and implementation of such programmes will continue.
The elected representatives informed the Chief Minister about the pace of implementation of development and welfare programmes in their respective areas.
The Chief Minister said that through honesty, hard work and public service, Punjab will be made a model province with regard to progress and development. He said that after successful experience in Lahore, metro bus projects are being started in Multan, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi.
He said that metro bus projects in Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad will also be a masterpiece of standard and transparency and lakhs of people will avail speedy, economical and comfortable transport facilities. He said that metro bus projects in Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad will be completed at the same speed at which it was executed in Lahore. He said that modern infrastructure plays a key role in rapid development and promotion of economic activities, therefore, a huge sum of Rs91 billion is being spent in the current year for infrastructure development. He said that a network of roads, bridges and underpasses is being laid in the province and more than Rs29 billion are being spent on the construction of new roads. The Chief Minister said that in addition to the provincial metropolis, billions of rupees are also being utilised on the provision of infrastructure and necessary facilities in Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and other major cities. He said that a sum of Rs93 billion is being spent on the uplift of south Punjab which is 32 percent of the total development budget. He said that process of provision of missing facilities in all schools of south Punjab will be completed during the current fiscal year
The Chief Minister directed Assembly Members to maintain close contact with the masses and inform them of welfare programmes of the government. He said that Assembly Members should play an effective role for ensuring timely and transparent completion of development schemes and utilise all their energies for resolving problems of the people. 
CM’s action: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered medical treatment of a kidney patient of Rajanpur, Hafiz Sohail. Taking notice of a news item on a private TV channel, the Chief Minister directed Health Department to provide treatment to Hafiz Sohail at government expenses. He also ordered Secretary Health to constitute a special medical board for treatment of the patient. It is worth mentioning that Hafiz Sohail of Mirawali is the only breadwinner of his family and cannot afford medical treatment due to financial problems.
