Bilingual declamation

LAHORE - The GC University Lahore Debating Society has lifted the team trophy at the All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Contest 2010 organised by the University of Central Punjab. GCU orator Babar Rashid bagged the title of the best Urdu speaker after defeating more than two dozens of debaters participating in the contest. However, Muhammad Bilal from Agriculture University Faisalabad secured second, while a student from Lahore College for Women University Lahore bagged third position in the Urdu debates. Defence Degree College student Miss Mehreen was declared the best English speaker. However, GCU student Hamza Tariq and Omer Saleem got the second and third positions in English debates. The GCU team was also awarded with Zafar Medal for its overall performance in the Contest. GCU Debating Society Adviser Sadiq Awan said that it is the second big achievement of the GCU debaters in 2010.
