LAHORE - Provincial Minister for Women Development Department Hameeda Waheed Uddin, representing the Punjab chief minister, gave a cheque for Rs 1.5 million to Hanan, a five and half years old thalassemia patient of Muridke, for his treatment.
Talking to media, the minister said that she went to Muridke on the special instructions of the chief minister. She said that the Punjab government had also issued necessary instructions to the concerned hospital for the treatment of the child. The parents of the patient thanked the Punjab chief minister for providing Rs 1.5 million for the treatment of the child and other facilities.
Earlier, Hameeda presided over a seminar regarding Women Empowerment Package at Government Higher Secondary School Muridke and highlighted the steps taken by the Punjab government for the welfare of the women.
Principal Mrs Ghazala Shaheen and Director Women Development Moin Akhtar also spoke on the occasion.
