Flight returns to airport following medical emergency

LAHORE - A Manchester-bound flight which took off from Allama Iqbal International Airport had to land back following medical emergency, sources in CAA said on Friday.
They said that PIA flight Pk-709 took off from Lahore airport on Friday at 2:00pm. After two hours, one of the passengers, Javed Akhtar, felt cardiac pain. Doctors onboard provided first aid to the passenger but his condition worsened due to which pilot had to take the flight back to the airport. Soon as the pilot landed back on Lahore airport, Civil Aviation and PIA’s doctors rushed to the runway and provided treatment to the passenger but his condition was still unstable. He was offloaded and was referred to a hospital.
The flight again took off with 313 passengers onboard. Meanwhile, some flights were delayed due to foggy weather in the city which caused huge problems for the passengers and their family members.
