Youm-e-Ali observed

LAHORE - Youm-e-Ali, the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) was observed on Thursday amid tight security across the country.
To avoid any untoward incident, special security arrangements were made, while the mourning processions followed the planned routes and gathered at the pre-decided venues.
In the provincial capital, mourning procession emerged from Mubarak Haveli and proceeded through Chowk Nawab Sahab, Mochi Gate, Kucha Sheyan, Old Kotwali, Kashmiri Bazaar, Bhati Gate and concluded at Kerbala Gamay Shah.
Participants of the procession also offered Zuhr prayer at Chowk Rang Mahal.
As part of security measures, the procession routes were divided into 12 sectors and eight entry points had been made where 33 walkthrough gates were installed.
Monitoring of sensitive areas was being carried out through CCTV cameras, three drone cameras and a helicopter while cellular services on procession route remained suspended till conclusion of the event.
Meanwhile DCO Capt (retd) Muhammad Usman paid a visit to District Control Room established at DCO Office Nadir Hall to monitor the route of procession of Shahadat-e-Hazrat Ali which was taken out from Mubarik Havali. The DCO remained in Control room for several hours and monitored procession through CCTV Cameras.
Talking to the media persons, he said the CDGL had installed 120 CCTV Cameras at different spots on procession route. He also revealed multi-layered security had been provided to the processions to avoid any untoward incident.
