LAHORE - PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif has firmly underscored the need for fostering national unity to sweep out terrorism in the country. He expressed these thoughts while distributing cheques of Rs 3m each to the 14 families of those policemen who embraced martyrdom in terrorist attack on 15 building here on Tuesday. He also announced to give employment of one person of each bereaved family. On the occasion, Hamza Shahbaz, Mujtaba Shuja u Rehman and other party leaders and workers were also present. Addressing the ceremony held in front of the house of the ASI (martyred in terrorist attack), he said those policemen who laid down the sacrifices of their lives could never be forgotten. They are real heroes and entire nation feels proud of them, he added. He said those who lost their deer ones could never be compensated by any means. But, he said, it was responsibility of everyone to sympathize with them so that that they could feel that nation was standing with them and they were not alone. He appreciated the announcement of CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif for bearing all education expenses of victim families. He said terrorists who had been killing sons and brothers were neither Muslims nor human beings. Extremism is a menace that should be dealt with iron hands, he added.
