Opp walks out


LAHORE – Opposition staged walkout from Punjab Assembly when microphone of Opposition Leader, Raja Riaz was switched off while talking on a point of order on Mehran Bank scandal, saying that top PML-N leaders, Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif received Rs 3.5 and 2.5 million for destabilizing the Benazir Bhutto government.
PPP MP, Sajida Mir on this said that it was the privilege of the opposition leader to initiate debate over the issue, while the PPP members pointed out the quorum when the treasury tried to proceed the session and the Speaker adjourned the session till March 12, Monday, 3 pm. 
Raja Riaz before the walkout on a point of order demanded that Shahbaz Sharif who refused acknowledging that he and PML-N chief had accepted funds in the Mehran Bank scandal for destabilizing the Benazir Bhutto government should apology from the House.  Ruling party MP, Abdul Razaq Dhillon on this said that the PPP leadership should bring the people’s money from Swiss Bank accounts, while the treasury benches also raised slogans ‘Go Zardari Go’.  Opposition member, Javed Garal pointed out the quorum and the session was adjourned by the speaker.
