LAHORE - Jumatul Wida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan, will be observed on Friday (today) with religious fervour and spiritual devotion. This will also be Al-Quds Day though the believers observed last Friday as Al-Quds Day due to the fear of last Friday of Ramazan. However, strong meteorological calculations depicted the sighting of Eid-ul-Fitr moon on Friday and Eid on Saturday. If it happened, todays Friday will be the Last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan of 30 fasting days. Thursday was the last fasting day in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon and the entire Middle East and these countries will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday (today). The government has declared Friday as holiday along with the Eid holidays and all government offices, educational institutions and some commercial centres will remain closed. However, the markets will remain open for Eid shopping. The faithful will hold Al-Quds rallies for the liberation of Al-Quds from the illegal occupation of Israel and hold protest outside mosques against illegal occupation of Al Qudus by Israel backed by America. The government has made special security arrangements for Jumatul Wida congregations at mosques and open places. As many as 10 Superintendents of Police, 38 DSPs and 7,000 operational wing police personnel will patrol the City roads.
