LAHORE - Following the directives of National Highways & Motorway Police Inspector General Muhammad Saleem Bhatti, N-5 Central observed a three-hour long special safe driving campaign to impart Road Safety Education, says a press release.
During the campaign every effort shall be made to provide help to the road users and to distribute road safety pamphlets. Special briefing sessions were conducted by patrol officers of NH&MP to educate the people about adopting safety measures. Zonal Commander DIG Mirza Faran Baig personally monitors the progress and performance of the patrolling officers during these hours.
In the special safe driving campaign Central Zone have utilised 96 patrolling mobiles while 6,275 pamphlets, 1,074 booklets and 3,213 gift packs of sweets have been distributed among public.
Moreover, Central Zone have also installed 10 road safety stalls in different prominent locations of highways beside rendering help to 190 road users in distress.
During the special patrolling the DIG Mirza Faran Baig himself briefed the road users on national highways & motorways and distributed road safety material among public. On this occasion DIG Mirza Faran Baig directed the patrol officers to uphold high standards of sophistication while dealing violators and perform their duties with full zeal and zest.
He further advised them to flourish the culture of soft policing to ensure soft but firm policing. He further directed them violators would not be challaned during the exercise. They shall be warned and briefed about the possible hazards of their violations. The small packets of sweets and biscuit with imprinted road safety messages would be distributed to the commuters travelling with families, he added.
