LHC declines hearing of a petition against Mian Tariq of PML-N

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has declined hearing of a petition seeking disqualification of MPA Mian Tariq of PML-N on the charges of concealing assets abroad.

Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi has refused hearing for personal reasons and sent it to the Chief Justice to fix it before any other appropriate bench.

Mian Tariq was elected as MPA from PP-113, Gujrat-IV. Previously, the LHC had overruled the LHC office objection and ordered to fix it before any other bench.

Ijaz Chaudhary of PML-Q had filed the petition and challenged the election of Mian Tariq saying that he established his business in Paris. He alleged that Mian Tariq did not disclose his assets at the time of filing his nomination papers. He prayed to the court to declare him disqualified and order re-election in the constituency concerned.
