LHC takes notice of IHC CJ car halt

LAHORE  - The Lahore High Court has called an inquiry report from the Punjab police for halting unnecessarily Thursday evening Islamabad High Court chief justice’s car to let a private motorcade of a bigwig’s grandson pass through a checkpoint on the motorway exit, near Thokar.  The high court on Friday took serious notice of the incident, and sought an inquiry report from the Punjab police chief.
Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi was travelling to Lahore in a staff car Thursday evening, without any official protocol. The judge was in line at a police checkpost at Thokar, when police officials stopped his vehicle to give passage to another vehicle. Policemen repeatedly tapped the hood of the vehicle of Justice Kasi and caused it to stop until the other car departed the checkpoint.
