LAHORE – A traffic warden thrashed an auto rickshaw driver over challan issue in Naulakha Police area on Tuesday.
According to the local residents, a traffic warden namely Farhan issued a challan ticket to a rickshaw driver namely Muhammad Waqas, who asked the warden that he did nothing wrong then why he was being issued challan? The answer infuriated the traffic warden, who started thrashing the driver severely and took him to the police station in order to get him locked but meanwhile, a large number of rickshaw drivers reached the police station.
They also blocked the main road and demanded immediate release of their colleague. They chanted slogans against traffic wardens, pelted stones on the main gate of the police station and burnt tyres.
