LAHORE - Dacoits on Thursday hit the Punjab Capital for several times and made off with cash, gold ornaments, and other valuables worth three million rupees, police sources said. Armed bandits looted three houses in Baghbanpura, Shafiqabad, and Shahdara police areas and escaped after collecting cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.5 million after holding the inmates hostage at gunpoint.
Thieves broke into the house of Faheem Ahmed in Wapda Town and fled after collecting cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.2 million. The police are investigating. Robbers riding on motorcycles and equipped with pistols also looted families, passersby, and motorists in Hayer, Green Town, Garden Town, Sabzazar, Shadbagh, Iqbal Town, Satu Katla, Gujjarpura and Factory Area police limits and snatched away cash and gold ornaments worth hundreds of thousands of rupees at gunpoint.
Meanwhile, six cars were stolen away from Shahdara Town, Muslim Town, Johar Town, Garden Town and Gulberg police areas while nine motorcycles were either snatched or stolen away from Satu Katla, Township, Baghbanpura, Civil Lines, Mughalpura, Mozang, Old Anar Kali, Faisal Town and Hanjarwal police vicinities.
