Reply sought from Centre in plea seeking PM’s sacking

LAHORE - Justice Syed Masnoor Ali Shah of the Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought reply from the federal government and the Election Commission of Pakistan in a petition seeking removal of president and prime minister by accusing them for not conducting Senate election in Fata.
A local citizen had filed the petition submitting that by stopping senate elections in Fata, there would be no representation of Fata in Senate and seats allocated to Fata would remain vacant which is against the constitution.  During the course of hearing, the judge asked a law officer that under which law the senate election from FATA can be stopped. The judge also sought reply from the federal government and election commission of Pakistan. The court will resume hearing on March 11.  The petitioner stated this is unconstitutional and happened due to president who at the eleventh hour on the advise of the prime minister changed voting method of the Fata making them opt out of the election process.
He said for this illegality, the PM and president violated their constitutional oaths and they should be removed from their offices.
