MAILSI - Merit is the sole criterion for the distribution of gunny bags among the grower and all-out efforts are being made to complete the process in a fair and transparent manner Passco DGM Ihtasham Tiwana expressed the views while talking to journalists here the other day. Mr Tiwana said that the Passco had set a target of two million bags of which 6,76,000 had been distributed among growers so far. We have purchased back almost 3,08,121 bags wheat as well, he claimed. He also revealed that till May 15, the Passco would distribute one million gunny bags. He mentioned that the gunny bags were being distributed on first come and first get basis and ruled out any discrimination and influence in the process. There is no discrimination against any person on whatever basis and the whole process is being conducted in fair and transparent way, he claimed. He also requested the farmers to enrol themselves at their nearest procurement centre and wait for their turn with patience. He also appealed to the growers to make your complaints on the telephone numbers, available at every procurement centre to get their grievance or problem resolved.
