LAHORE: Lahore High Court Complaint Cell on Saturday took notice of an incident of a man unleashing a dog on his ex-wife.
The Cell directed the District & Sessions Judge, Hafizabad, to look into the matter and submit report regarding steps taken by police along with own comments within a week.
As per details, a divorced woman, Shehr Bano, along with her mother was going to the Sukheki police station to lodge complaint against her former in-laws regarding a dowry dispute.
When she reached near police station, Bano’s former husband and his relatives, including Asif, allegedly unleashed a dog on her. The woman sustained injuries. Bano and her mother arrived to the police station and on their report, the police arrested one of the accused.
When police brought the accused to the police station, Bano’s mother allegedly thrashed him. According to police, the allegations were false and concocted only to defame her ex-husband and his parents.–Staff Reporter
