PTI to stage sit-in outside Punjab Assembly tomorrow

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will stage a sit-in outside Punjab Assembly tomorrow in Panama leaks row.

PTI chief Imran Khan has been demanding the Prime Minister to resign ever since the leaks surfaced. Reportedly, PTI will offer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to participant in the demonstration.

Different opposition parties endorsed Khan’s demand including PPP, Awami Muslim League (AML) and JI. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) did not support opposition on resignation demand initially but agreed during a meeting at Leader of the Opposition in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan’s residence.

Different senior members of opposition parties convened two meetings at Aitzaz Ahsan’s house in Islamabad to discuss course-of-action against the government and finalise Terms of References (TORs) for establishment of a judicial commission.

Government had presented its TORs after Prime Minister announced writing to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali to head a commission that would be tasked to probe the leaks against his family and other Pakistanis.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced holding rallies in different cities as protest against rulers of the country who according to the party have lost moral authority to lead the nation and should resign.
