Dengue cases toll reaches 225

LAHORE - The menace of dengue continued to haunt people as 10 more were tested positive for the deadly virus in Rawalpindi on Friday, taking the number of confirmed cases in the province to 225.  All 10 dengue cases were reported from Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi. Out of 225 cases, 134 have been reported from Rawalpindi, 39 from Lahore, 32 from Sheikhupura and 05 from Attock.  Meanwhile, Lahore General Hospital has started project of Central Oxygen Supply System for enabling every patient to get oxygen at the bed. The project costing Rs 4.8 million will be completed with the help of philanthropists.
Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal and LGH Prof Anjum Habib Vohra said that installation of oxygen supply pipes to all the wards of the hospital has been started.
 He said that a committee comprising Prof Khalid Mahmood, Prof Kahalid Bashir, MS Dr Pervez Imtiaz and Additional MS Dr Junaid Mirza has been constituted for monitoring the process. He said that the project would be completed until December 31.
