LHC overrules objection on plea seeking disqualification of Ch Aitzaz

LAHORE: Justice Shahid Waheed of the Lahore High Court today overruled objection of the registrar office on a petition seeking disqualification of PPP-P Senator Ch Aitzaz Ahsan, Senator Rehman Malik and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah for allegedly violating laws of Election Commission of Pakistan.

Syed Iqtidar Haider Shah filed the petition and said that PPPP leaders were using the name and flag of PPP which was the violation of laws of Election Commission of Pakistan.

He said Ch Aitzaz Ahsan was elected on the ticket of PPPP while he was member of the PPP. Similarly other leaders were the members of both PPPP and PPP. The petitioner said they were deceiving people and it was violation of the Constitution. Therefore, he said, the members of the PPPP should be declared disqualified.  The petitioner further said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s name was not clear. He pleaded the court to order the interior minister to submit reply regarding the actual name of Bilawal.  The court overruled the objection of the registrar office on the petition that it was already subjudice and admitted for preliminary hearing.
