LAHORE - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) held a protest demonstration against Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri outside Lahore Press Club here on Monday.Dr Qadri while addressing his workers in Model Town on Sunday had passed instructions to kill anyone who would turn his back on the revolution march which the PAT has announced against the government for August 14.The PML-N protest was attended by Lahore based legislators in addition to hundreds of party workers; many of them carried placards, banners inscribed with slogans against Qadri.The protesters, some of whom were holding portraits of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, also torched effigies of Dr Qadri and chanted loud slogans against him wherein they addressed him as murderer and traitor. A large number of women workers of the party also took part in demonstration, besides members of the ulema and youth wing of the PML-N.PML-N city President Muhammad Pervez Malik, Khwaja Ahmad Hassaan, Khwaja Imran Nazir, Khwaja Salman Rafiq, Mohsin Latif, Tauseef Shah, Saulul Malook Khokhar, Khurram Roheel Asghar, Waheed Gull, Ghazali Butt, Zaeem Qadri, Majid Zahoor, Shaista Pervez Malik, Rana Mubashir and others addressed the workers.The speakers vowed to protect democratically elected government and said they have been mandated to rule for five years and no one would be allowed to break into that mandate. They said they were custodians of democracy and the constitution therefore no march or revolution can intimidate them.The speakers said the people are politically mature and they cannot be misled by the people like Dr Qadri or anyone else. They said a group planted by Jews and Hindus was conspiring to derail democracy in the country but patriotic people would thwart their designs through the power of unity.Referring to Qadri they said whenever the country had difficult time due to earthquake and floods this person ran out of the country and never came to help the victims. They said the PML-N faced dictatorship for 10 year and it would successfully face the present adversaries as well. They said the leadership has advised them to exercise patience and restraint and they would do it and added, they would never let succeed the ill wish of the power lusty leaders but would make the country stronger and peaceful under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.
