LAHORE – The affectees of Khanpur tragedy called upon Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday, along with MPA Zaib Jaffer, Home Secretary, RPO and Commissioner Bahawalpur, DPO and DCO Rahim Yar Khan.
The affectees of Khanpur incident, which had claimed the lives of 18 people in a bomb blast on January 16th, thanked the government for providing timely assistance to the victims and for sharing their grief. They said that the Punjab government has tried to minimize the gap between rich and poor by providing opportunities of modern education to the children of poor, orphans and widows in Daanish Schools. The affectees demanded that the children of those who died in Khanpur tragedy should also be given admission in these schools.
Talking to the affectees Shahbaz Sharif said that a number of precious lives have been lost in the incident.
