LAHORE: Police on Saturday briefly detained the daughter of PPP leader Qasim Zia after her car hit a cop in the Model Town area. Later, Anam Qasim was released on bail. Police have registered a case and are investigating. Police claimed that the accident took place when she tried to avoid flagging down, wounding constable Ashfaq Ahmed Haideri. He was taken to hospital, where his condition was reported to be out of danger. The police impounded the vehicle and put the girl behind the bars after registering a case against her. However, Anam told reporters at the police station that the accident took place because of the negligence of the policeman. According to her, she was going to visit the house of her friend in Model Town. She said that she was searching for the house of her friend when she had the accident.
