PMA finalises proposals


LAHORE – Pakistan Medical Association’s committee has finalised its recommendation regarding the pay and service structure of the doctors across Pakistan and the same will be presented in the Apex Court on the next date of hearing.
The committee has unanimously adopted the recommendations of the PMA’s central council regarding the announcement of separate pay scales for the health professional along with pension and gratuity which had already been implemented at the Sheikh Zaid Hospital Lahore through the presidential ordinance and the doctors were getting salaries of new scales for the last three months.
According to new scales the grade 1 to 7 will be for paramedical staff, nurses and others while the doctors will be in grade 9 to 13. Scale 09 will be equivalent to 19, scale 10 to 20, scale 11 to 21, scale 12 to 22 while the chief executive and head of institution will have grade 13 equivalent to grade 23.
