NSP launched in South Punjab

LAHORE - The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has launched New School Programme (NSP) in Southern Punjab districts of DG Khan, Layyah, Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur to promote quality education in the areas where poor children were previously deprived of schooling due to their socio-economic deprivations. Under the NSP, Punjab Education Foundation is providing more than Rs7.2 million every month to as many as 83 partner schools 20,750 students in such areas. This was told in a meeting of Punjab Education Foundation which held under the chairmanship of PEF-Chairman Raja Anwar at his office on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by PEF officers. Raja Anwar expressed his satisfaction that PEF was working for the cause of poor children. Exhibition Lahore Arts Council (LAC) will organise a paintings exhibition by displaying the works of five young artists at Alhamra Art Gallery from tomorrow (May 13). The artists include: Ayesha Sultana, Fatima Haider, Ferwa Ibrahim, Meher Javed and Sana Ali. Peculiarly titled 'Rise to ruin the exhibition brings together works that seem to draw from similar sources of inspiration but also reflect distinct vision of the artists. The exhibition will last till May 18.
