LAHORE - Chairman Nazaria Pakistan Trust Majid Nizami has said that American forces had threatened Pakistan of hot pursuit and attacks inside Pakistan territories meant that after Afghanistan and Iraq, Pakistan is their next target, so we should prepare ourselves to confront them with bravely. He was addressing a congregation assembled at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan for Quran Khawani of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad All Jinnah on the occasion of his death anniversary. The event was organised by NPT and attended by a large number of people from all walks of life along with workers of Pakistan Movement and students from different educational institutions. "We have assembled here to pay glowing tributes to the Quaid-e-Azam who divided united India into two parts despite the Hindus and Britain's collusion. He was torch-bearer of the Two-Nation Theory and said that Muslims, who had ruled the region for a millennium, could not be kept slave for a long time," Nizami said. He said that when British were going back from the subcontinent, they wanted to leave Muslims at the mercy of Hindus but Almighty Allah bestowed on the Muslims Quaid-e-Azam whose struggle culminated in the establishment of Pakistan. "We were unfortunate that we could not keep intact the unity of Pakistan. It was because when Bengalis observed that there was no Bengali General in the army and that they would not have any chance in future to rule the country. Thus East Pakistan was made Bangladesh," he was of the view. He said that Quaid-e-Azam had made us one nation but after his sad demise we had disintegrated into Sindhi, Balochi and Punjabi groups. "We should pray to Allah Almighty that we may become one nation once again and make Pakistan a prosper country," Nizami said. He said some people had misunderstood that Quaid-e-Azam was a secular person as he wore western dress and talked in English but in fact he was a staunch Muslim and real follower of the Prophet of Muhammad (PBUH). Giving an example in this regard, he said, tribal people could not understand Quaid-e-Azam's English speech but they believed that what he was saying must be correct, as he was reliable and trustworthy person. Nizami said that Quaid-e-Azam wanted to make Pakistan a place where Islamic values should be implemented but we had made it a place for the army to rule the country. "Current COAS General Kayani had pledged that Army is bound to protect only the physical boundaries of the country and had told Americans that they have no right to attack Pakistani territory. We have written time and again in newspapers for those who had blind faith on Americans that next target would be Pakistan and if American Army is entering Pakistan territory to attack militants it meant that now we are their target," he said. Justice (R) Javed Iqbal said with the passage of time we are moving away from policies of the Quaid-e-Azam. He dilated on cardinal points from Quaid-e-Azam's sayings and said these points should be taken as milestones for the very foundation of Pakistan. The audience unanimously approved Dr. Javed's 12 points and demanded that the government should formulate state's policies according to this 12-point resolution. He also tabled a resolution that government should discuss in parliament the coalition army operations in tribal areas and policies regarding western countries particularly USA. The resolution was also passed unanimously. Vice Chairman NPT Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad said we feel we had no strong leadership like the Quaid-e-Azam. He advised current politicians to follow in the footsteps of Quaid-e-Azam. He said Quaid-e-Azam had envisioned that Pakistan would be a modern Islamic and welfare state. Eminent politician Begum Mahnaz Rafi said that the tone of President Bush indicates that Pakistan is being trapped. Beghum Surriya K.H. Khurshid said the current rulers are not as sagacious, wise and selfless as the Quaid-e-Azam. Former Federal Minister Ahmad Saeed Kirmani said we should not be disappointed from the awful circumstances, as Pakistan has come into being till the world's end. Eminent columnist Col. (R) Ikram Ullah said Quaid-e-Azam struggled hard for freedom and it culminated in the creation of Pakistan. He observed that if Muslim League could be united, country could have been brought out from crises.
