LAHORE - The chief of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Malik Ishaq, was released from Kot Lakhpat Jail on Tuesday.
Malik Ishaq had been arrested by the police, shortly after he returned to the country from Saudi Arabia and landed at the Lahore airport a couple of days ago.
A day earlier, Additional District and Sessions Judge Nisar Ahmed granted bail to Malik Ishaq in a case registered against him for fanning sectarianism. He was released from the jail after his bail was deposited, a prison officer said.
Ishaq was sent to the Kot Lakhpat Jail on a 14-day judicial remand on his return from Saudi Arabia on August 29.

According to notification, Abdul Kareem, awaiting posting is transferred and posted as SSP Highway Patrol Multan Region against an existing vacancy.
Separately, the government notified transfers and postings of various officers with immediate effect. As per details, Rajanpur Assistant Commissioner (AC) Muhammad Mukhtar has been transferred and posted as Fort Abbas AC while AC Shakeel Ahmad as Rajanpur AC. Asif Rauf Khan, Okara AC has been transferred and posted as Population Welfare Department Section Officer, and Anti Corruption Establishment Assistant Director Muhammad Shah Rukh has been posted as AC Okara.
