AGITATION POLITICS
PUSHING COUNTRY INTO
DARKNESS: SHAHBAZ
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said the untimely long march and so-called revolution are aimed at pushing the country into the darkness of extremism, poverty and unemployment.
He said the elements leading a luxurious life in Canada and London have no interest in solving problems of the Pakistani people who have totally rejected these elements during the 2013 general elections. He said that in a democratic setup, issues are resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding and not in the streets. He said the nation and history would never forgive those involved in confrontation in the present critical situation. He said the elements involved in negative politics wanted to create lawlessness and anarchy through dividing the nation but they, he added, would never succeed in their evil designs.
Talking to various delegations of the PML-N here on Tuesday, the CM said that the elements engaged in the politics of protest under a conspiracy wanted to create anarchy in the country and destroy economy through the so-called revolution and long march.
He said that a person who tells lies under the oath of Holy Quran is a blot on revolution and his aim is only to create lawlessness and anarchy in the country through threats of violence.
Shahbaz said the politics of chaos is causing economic loss to the country. He further said that PTI chairman Imran Khan is relying on long march to hide the failures and poor performance of his party’s government in KP. He questioned what the PTI could bring change in the country if it has failed to bring any change in KP. He advised Imran to give up the politics of long march and improve the performance of the KP government. He said survival of the country depends upon a strong democratic system and the PML-N government has rendered innumerable sacrifices for the promotion of democracy, strengthening of democratic system and supremacy of law and constitution due to which genuine democracy has been restored in the country.
The CM said the PML-N has been given heavy mandate by the nation and it would live up to the expectations of the masses, and the country would be brought out of quagmire of problems and put on the road to progress and prosperity. He said the Pakistani nation is united and has complete confidence in the existing democratic system. He expressed the confidence that Pakistan would achieve the goal of progress and prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and every conspiracy against democratic system would be foiled.
