PA to back DRA on 15th

LAHORE-Punjab Governor, Sardar Latif Khan Khosa has convened Punjab Assembly session on February 15 (Wednesday), hardly a week after it was prorogued following an unprecedented rumpus created by the members on Assembly floor.  The urgency for convening the session is said to be the fulfilment of a necessary formality, that of passage of a resolution by the Assembly seeking establishment of a Drug Regulatory Authority (DRA) at the federal level.
According to Assembly sources, the adoption of such a resolution by Punjab Assembly and other provincial Assemblies is required under Article 144 of the Constitution. Of late, PM Gilani accused Punjab Government of creating hurdles in the way of establishing DRA at the federal level when the issue of deaths caused by PIC drugs came to limelight.
