Pakistan, Korea join hands to work for Saaf Pani

Lahore (PR) - A joint venture of Pakistani and Korean firms inked a contract on Thursday with Punjab Saaf Pani Company to rehabilitate and upgrade dysfunctional water supply schemes besides planning and designing new water supply solutions in rural areas of Dera Ghazi Khan and Faisalabad regions.
This collaboration will provide engineering and management consultancy services to offer Tehsil-wise mapping in the areas to assess the present status of water supply system coverage, community access and institutional arrangement, with necessary social surveys, studies and investigations including water quality testing.
Punjab Saaf Pani Company is a flagship development model of Punjab government to rehabilitate and upgrade existing functional and non-functional water supply schemes and design new water supply solutions to underserved and unserved areas of rural and peri-urban Punjab.
The contract was signed by Saaf Pani Company CEO Farasat Iqbal, G3 Engineering Managing Director Ch Saifullah Ejaz and, Yooshin Engineering Vice President Sean Kim.
The joint venture is comprised of G3 Engineering, Yooshin Engineering and Crescent Consultants Consortium (CCC).
According to a press release issued on Thursday, Minister for Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Malik Tanvir Aslam and PSPC BoD Chairperson Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha also witnessed the ceremony. While, JV representatives In Dea Kim, Hawn Kim, Engr Ali Abbas Gillani, Sardar Amin and other senior officials of PSPC were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Tanvir Aslam Malik said that the contract had been awarded to the JV through a transparent process. “This is indeed Punjab government’s great success and an indicator to ensure good governance in the province,” the minister said.
