‘Qadri to be responsible if things go wrong’

LAHORE – Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Saturday said that the government had adopted all measures to protect life of people in the long march but if any unwanted incident takes place the responsibility would squarely rest on Dr Tahirul Qadri.
Rana Sana said that the Punjab government would not stop long march as long as it remains peaceful while overruling any plan to arrest or detain Dr Tahir Qadri.
The Law Minister said the police and the administrative officers over the last five days had been reaching out to Minhajul Quran authorities to seek details of vehicles, the venues, parking, method for identification of the participants of the long march and their stay at night but nothing had been provided as yet.
Flanked by CCPO City, Aslam Tarin, Additional IG Mushtaq Sukhera, Commissioner Lahore, Jawad Rafiq and Additional Secretary Information Tahir Hamdani, the law Minister said that there were high degree threats of terrorist attack on the long march and for the sake of protecting life of the people he once against urged Dr Qadri to give up the long march plan and talk about its demands with the government. He said it would be highly deplorable after Dr Qadri had forced the people to sell out their ornaments, lands and even motorbikes, he was going to throw them into the death jaws only to promote foreign agenda which he had brought with him from Canada.
Rana said that since vehicles were most vulnerable to terrorist attacks therefore no vehicle would be allowed to take part in the procession unless it was thoroughly checked, and long march stickers was affixed on it.
