Lahore High Court issued notice to Punjab government and district authorities over non-implementation of court verdict for giving big city allowance to teachers. Lahore High Court's Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed heard a petition filed by Punjab Teachers Association in which the petitioner said that Punjab government and Lahore administration did not implement the court's order for giving big city allowance to teachers. Justice Sheik Azmat Saeed remarked that court issues verdicts pertaining to various issues but government officials normally did not give due consideration to them for their implementation. Dismissing the misconception developed in the mind of government officials regarding court's power to implement their decisions, Justice Sheikh Azmat said that courts know better to implement their decisions. He said that court could also halt the monthly packages of the government officials who show negligence in enforcing court's verdict. The court sought reply from the concerned authorities in this regard on next hearing.
