LAHORE Three persons died while two others suffered multiple injuries when a gas cylinder was exploded in the CNG-kit manufacturing factory at AMG Engineering near Chung Police Training School here on Saturday. Police investigators said that the workers were busy in their routine work when a gas cylinder exploded due to gas leakage. Resultantly three persons died on the spot. The deceased were identified as Muhammad Rafiq (27), Shahab Gul (19) and Awais (17). On receiving information, Rescue 1122 and volunteers of Edhi Foundation reached the spot and rushed injured Abbas Ali and Muhammad Riaz to the Jinnah Hospital where their condition was told stable till filing of this report. The incident occurred at about 1:15pm owing to leakage of gas, Edhi spokesman said. Police investigators claimed overall eight workers were present inside the factory when the incident took place. They said the owner of the factory namely Abdul Maan was out of the factory while Moeen Khan, manager of the factory, has been arrested for interrogation. Later, the bodies were removed to the Jinnah Hospital morgue for autopsy. Further investigation was underway. Burnt woman dies at hospital: An 80-year-old woman, mother of five, severely burnt a few days back under mysterious circumstances died at the Burn Unit of the Mayo Hospital on Saturday. The woman Amna Bibi was a resident of Icchhra. She was admitted in the aforesaid hospital where the doctors after trying their best to save her life pronounced her dead on Saturday. Later, an Edhi ambulance shifted and handed over her body to the bereaved family.
