LAHORE - A seminar on the eradication of dengue was held at Government College Township here on Monday. Principal of the college Prof Dr Muhammad Ijaz Butt chaired the seminar.
Advisor to Punjab CM Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz was the chief guest on the occasion while advisors to CM Rahat Afza Bukhari and Farzana Butt were the special guests.
Principal Dr Ijaz Butt presented the inaugural speech and lauded the efforts of the college staff and students for eradication of dengue.
Farzana Butt while addressing the seminar said the CM was very serious about the dengue eradication campaign. Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz appreciated the efforts of Principal Dr Ijaz Butt for eradication of dengue virus. Rahat Afza also presented glorious tributes to Ijaz Butt for cleanliness in the college. She also lauded the efforts of college’s staff and students.
On the occasion, teachers, students and staff members were also awarded for good performance in cleanliness campaign in the college.
Meanwhile, Government College of Home Economics, Gulberg also held seminar on dengue prevention and control. Shaista Pervaiz was the chief guest on the occasion.
On the occasion, the principal Dr Samia Kalsoom appreciated the efforts of Punjab Government for the preventive measures. She said, “In order to eradicate this virus for our environment a collective drive motivated by volunteers specially the students is required.”
Shaista Pervaiz emphasized upon the need of serious measures to be taken this year.
