Body approves amends in 10 laws

LAHORE-Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa presided over the meeting of cabinet committee on concurrent list and approved amendments and new draft laws in ten existing laws regarding Board of Revenue, Agriculture, Health, Labour Welfare and Auqaf departments. The meeting was told that the proposed legislation would be placed before the provincial Cabinet for final approval before its tabling in the Punjab Assembly. Sardar Khosa directed the high ranking officials of provincial administration to speed up working on the formulation of powers and duties of the departments after 18th amendment as the concurrent had been omitted and majority of the subject matters stood devolved on the provinces. He directed to take necessary steps for the change in rules of business for concerned departments after the changed situation in the light of abolition of concurrent list, as early as possible. He also directed that funds and assets to be handed over to the provinces should be utilized for the welfare of the people and the respective departments should adopt a clear cut policy and make amendment in rules of business wherever required. The participants of the committee were briefed regarding concerned departments after the abolition of concurrent list as well as regarding proposed amendments in the relevant laws. The meeting was attended by Minister for Finance Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Chief Secretary, Addl. Chief Secretary, SMBR, Secretaries of Law, Labour, Home and Agriculture, Auqaf, I&C and Health Departments besides high ranking officials. Students visit Aiwan The students of the Sufah Education School System Friday visited Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan on a study tour. The students were informed about 550 unique pictures and scenes of Pakistan Movement at Aiwan Gallery followed by an organised ceremony, which was addressed by Vice Chairman NPT Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad. Meanwhile, Mobile Ideological Units 1, 2 and 3 of Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust on Aghi Programme led by their coordinators Prof Saeed Shaikh, Abdus Salam and Nadeem Raza respectively visited the Government Boys High School Gulberg, Al-Sufah School System Salamatpura, City District Government Girls High School Kareem Park. The ceremonies in said institutions were addressed by the school teachers Habibullah, Mehr Rizwan, Mumtaz Ali, Ghulam Sarwar, Rashida Khanum. The students were awarded prizes in quiz competitions and over correct recitations of Allama Iqbals verses. Sets of books were given to institutions libraries.
