LAHORE – PML-N lawyers’ forum on Friday staged a demo to protest ouster of Nawaz Sharif led democratic government on October 12, 1999 by the then dictator Pervez Musharraf.
They arranged the demonstration at GPO Chowk on The Mall and denounced ouster of their leader from the government.
Dozens of lawyers led by Khawaja Mahmood marched from the Lahore High Court to the GPO Chowk carrying placards and banners. They chanted slogans against former Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf and demanded death penalty for him for his extra-constitutional steps.
The protesting lawyers also burned an effigy of Musharraf at the Chowk. The lawyers also offered prayer for the early recovery of Malala Yousafzai.
