Man shot dead in broad daylight


LAHORE – Motorcyclists shot dead a 60-year-old man in broad daylight at GPO Crossing on Friday and fled away, police said.
The deceased man, later identified as Zahid Amin Butt, was on his way home situated in Ichhra area when two unidentified motorcyclists intercepted him near GPO Crossing. They opened straight fire at him and managed to escape from the crime scene. According to the eyewitnesses, the gun-attack on the busy road created panic and fear as many motorists leaving their vehicles on the road ran towards safe places.
Police investigators said that the deceased man had two wives and also he had old enmity with some people. They suspected that he was shot dead by his rivals.
The man sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot. The police have removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far.
Died: A 35-year-old man who was admitted to a local hospital in serious condition some three days ago, died there on Friday. Police said that the man, unidentified so far, was lying unconscious in Manawan police precincts when he was shifted to a local hospital. Police investigators said that apparently, the man was drug addict.
