More rains ahead

LAHORE
Parts of the country including Lahore received rainfall of varying intensities on Friday with experts predicting more rains during the next couple of days.
Cloudiness, rains and continuously blowing winds caused considerable decrease in the mercury level, providing respite to the people from the prevailing muggy weather.
The relief, however, was short lived as abundance of sunshine after the stoppage of rains again turned the weather muggy, causing people to sweat profusely.
Rain-thundershowers occurred at isolated places in Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Malakand Kohat and Peshawar divisions. Weather remained hot and humid in the remaining parts of the country.
Maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 30 degree Celsius and 24 C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 68 per cent.
According to the experts, seasonal low lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending northeastwards. Weak monsoon currents are penetrating into upper parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is prevailing over upper parts of the country.
The local meteorological department has forecast rain-thundershowers at isolated places in Kashmir, Islamabad, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions), Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours. Hot and humid weather is expected in other parts of the country.
