No room for extremism: CM

LAHORE  - American Consul General Zachary Harkenrider called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif yesterday and shared views on the matters of mutual interests, promotion of bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in various sectors particularly energy sector.
On the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that the friendship of Pakistan and America is based on multidimensional relations and increasing cooperation of America in energy sector of Pakistan is commendable. He said that economy of Pakistan is progressing speedily due to which energy requirements are also increasing.
Referring to Pak-America relations, the Chief Minister said that Pakistan and America are partners of each other in promoting tolerance, patience and forbearance and both the countries have common approach in this regard. He said that setting up of a society based on tolerance, moderation and patience is our mission and this great objective of Quaid-i-Azam will certainly be achieved.
He said there is no room for terrorism and extremism in Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. “We are determined to make Pakistan a welfare state in accordance with the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah,” he said.
The CM said that the entire nation is united against terrorism. He said terrorists are enemy of the entire humanity.
He said that people of Pakistan have rendered great sacrifices in the war against terrorism. Shahbaz said that we highly value the increasing American cooperation in energy sector and expressed the hope that mutual relations between both the countries will further strengthen in the coming days.
American Consul General Zachary Harkenrider, talking on the occasion, said that the sacrifices of Pakistan in the war against terrorism cannot be forgotten. He said that CM is serving the people diligently and his performance is laudable.

Kite-flying noticed
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of incidents of kite flying in some cities and sought a report from authorities concerned.
The CM directed that the law of ban on kite flying should be strictly implemented and indiscriminate action be taken against the violators under the law. He said that violation of law of ban on kite flying will not be tolerated at any cost. Shahbaz directed that best treatment facilities should be provided to the six years old child injured in Gujranwala.
