Corrupt elements main hurdle in rule of law: PTI

LAHORE - Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said that corrupt elements are the main hurdle in the establishment of rule of law and independent judiciary in the country. He was addressing public meetings held in different areas in connection with election campaign in PP-160 on Sunday. Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, Tahir Ashraf Bara, former MPA Ashraf Bara, Sarfraz Khokhar and a large number of party workers were also present on the occasion. He said PML-N betrayed the judiciary by supporting 18th amendment because independent judiciary was the manifesto of PML-N in general elections and now their role exposed them. He said that both ruling parties have an agreement for covering their corruptions by not opposing each other. He said that Nawaz Sharif is unable to take decisions in the interest of nation because he resided in the country for politics only while had transferred his all assets abroad. He said that existing independent judiciary is the only hope for the country and in case they attempted to target Judiciary again, the people of Pakistan would defend it. While criticising the budget, he said that the rulers instead of controlling expenses for their luxuries, overburdened the masses by levying taxes and country is suffering due to such off beam policies of the government. He said that government is responsible for present decaying law and order situation in the country. PTI urges govt to fix Rs10,000 salary of workers Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has appealed the Punjab government to fix at least 10 thousand rupees salary of the employees and the workers besides focussing on education, health and agriculture sectors in the provincial budget. While addressing a press conference held here on Sunday in connection with budget proposals, PTI Punjab President Ahsan Rasheed also proposed that 50 per cent urban development funds must be generated from the elite class of the society. He said there was no relief for the poor in the federal budget. He further demanded of the government to relive the masses on priority basis with allocating at least Rs50 billion for education and health sectors, while Rs100 billion for agriculture sector in the budget. He said govt must pay outstanding dues to IPPs instead of wasting money on rental powers in order to get rid of electricity crisis. He demanded the government to create employment opportunities instead of introducing useless schemes like sasti roti and Benazir Income Support Programmes so that people could play their due role for the prosperity of the country. He also demanded drop in electricity tariff for the poor and raise for the rich.
