Govt to allot plots to PMW medallists

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said the Punjab government will allot residential plots to gold medalists Pakistan Movement Workers (PMW) in recognition of their services. This was decided at a high level meeting presided over by Khosa. Secretary Housing and Urban Development Sohail Aamir, Special Assistant to CM Raja Ashfaq Sarwar and officers of LDA and Housing Department attended the meeting. According to a press release issued here on Friday, the Pakistan Movement Workers Trust in its letter had reminded Shahbaz Sharif that Quaid PML-N Mian Nawaz Shari, as a CM Punjab, had announced in a function of awarding gold medals to Pakistan Movement workers that residential plots would also be given to these 69 gold medalists. Chairman Trust Majeed Nizami requested the Chief Minister Punjab to implement the announcement of the Quaid PML-N. In response to this, the CM constituted a committee, headed by Khosa, which was directed to formulate its recommendations by considering the distribution of plots. The committee recommended that the workers belonging to Lahore should be allotted plots in Lahore, while the workers living outside Lahore be given plots in the schemes of Housing Department in their respective districts.
