Wattoo comments on government's role in crisis

LAHORE- PPP leader Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo appreciated the institutional response by the army, when ISPR announced to support the democratic process in the country.

He observed that the clarification was required to end the confusion created by the government and to end debate in the media in this context.

He further argued that the present political situation would not have arisen if Punjab Chief Minister had resigned after the Model Town incident that killed 14 people.

He urged the parties and the government to give space to each other in the negotiations. While regretting the arrests of PTI and PAT workers, he said, “It is a bad time for such antics.”

“It is imperative for the government to focus its energy and resources on solving problems such as price surges, law and order, load shedding and the devastating floods,” he concluded.
