LAHORE - The Joint Investigation Team, constituted to probe the Model Town tragedy, submitted a detailed report of the cell-phone numbers used by the Punjab chief minister, former law minister, former principal secretary and 16 others. The Joint Investigation Team officials submitted their reports through the reader who played his role as a bridge between the tribunal headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najfi and the officials who took part in the proceedings. The tribunal delivered ISI deputy director Asad Ali Khan the list of 18 cell-phone numbers for analysis. However, the tribunal requisitioned necessary data of 16th and 17th of June from the relevant cell-phone companies. The JIT, through DSP Saiful Murtaza, placed the record along with progress report of the investigating team. The team provided details of 18 cell-phone numbers. However, the official assured the tribunal to provide record of the remaining cell-phone numbers whenever it is made available to him. During previous proceedings, the tribunal had asked the JIT to provide telephonic conversation record of Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif, former law minister Rana Sanaullah, former principal secretary to CM Dr Tauqeer Hussain Shah, the Home Secretary, commissioner of Lahore Division, CCPO Lahore, DCO Lahore, former DIG Operations Lahore Rana Abdul Jabbar, SP Operations Model Town Division Tariq Aziz, SP Headquarters Lahore Maroof Safdar Wahla, SP Operations Saddar Division Malik Awais, SP CIA Umar Virik, SP Operations Iqbal Town Division Farrukh Raza, SP Investigation Model Town Division Mohammad Nadeem, SP Flying Squad Agha Mohammad Ramzan, SP Mujahid Squad Abdul Rehman Sherazi, and SP Security Lahore Salman Khan. Additional IG Altaf Hussain presented a report of SOPs of the communication between the police command. The District & Sessions Judge Lahore had presented before the tribunal a report along with statements of the four injured persons. The tribunal had appointed him as local commission to record statements of the injured persons who are under treatment at Jinnah Hospital. SSP Special Branch, Lahore, Muhammad Waqar Abbasi submitted two CDs containing video footage of the operation. Masroor Alam, Director IB, Admin and Sajid Bilal, Director IB, Lahore appeared before the tribunal and placed on record a report of the incident. Asad Ali Khan, Deputy Director of ISI, appeared on behalf of the director, and stated that the director was not in the city in pursuance to his professional obligations. He placed on record a report and two CDs of the incident. Later, the LHC media cell issued a press release, stating the proceedings of the tribunal was held in-camera as the lawyers were holding strike on the issue of Palestine.
