Dengue fever still haunting people

LAHORE - In sharp contrast to government claims regarding considerable decrease in dengue fever cases, more and more patients continued to visit public sector hospitals and private healthcare centres across the province including the City. On Sunday, as many as 140 new dengue fever patients were reported from across the province and out of these 109 were from the provincial metropolis. According to the reports of so far 4334 dengue fever patients have been recovered and returned to their homes while 92 were still under treatment at public sector hospitals. According to the spokesman of Punjab Health Department, there is no shortage of platelet kits at public sector hospitals and besides free diagnosis and treatment facilities, the patients are also provided kits according to their requirements.
