Rs 2.4m collected in challans

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The City Traffic Police have collected more than Rs 2.4 million as it had issued challans to over 16,000 vehicles on violation during the current month, informed sources said. They further said the City Traffic Police were working completely in favour of the government as million of rupees are being shifted in government treasury on monthly basis by launching various campaigns in the name of violation of traffic rules and regulations. However, according to an official statement issued on Friday, the spokesman said the Traffic Police challaned about 15,550 vehicles on charges of having expired driving licenses, while the challans were issued to 974 teenage drivers.
